           Food safety Laboratory was first initiated in 2001 by Dr. Gihan El Moghazy. At that time, the laboratory has started with four microbiologists and lab specialist, one technician and one worker. Recently, to cope with the increase in the work capacity, five lab specialists have joined the work team during the last five years.  In 2006 the food safety lab has been accredited from A2LA American Association for Laboratory accreditation according to the international standard  ISO/IEC 17025 in total Coliform count, Bacillus cereus count and Yeast count. After two years in 2008, the Food safety lab also has been accredited in Enterococci count. The Food safety lab. started with thirty three tests annually, now the average tests capacity is seven hundred twenty four tests annually.
