The
Regional Center for Food & Feed was established in 1980 with the
cooperation between the
government of Denmark and the Ministry of Agriculture in Egypt.
In 1982 it was given the
name of “Egyptian –Danish Laboratory for chemical and biological
analysis”. In 1987, the Lab was given the name of “Central
Laboratory for Food & Feed” (CLFF) and became a part of Agricultural
Research Center (ARC) of the Ministry of Agriculture. In 2007 A
ministerial decree was issued to change the lab name to Regional
Centre for Food & Feed (RCFF). The work in RCFF started with 5
persons and the number grow to more than 600 person up till now. RCFF
progressed to reach 27 specialized analytical labs. RCFF is
responsible for the quality control of feed and imported feed
ingredients , in addition ,RCFF contributes in implementing research
plans for improving human & animal nutrition. In 2002 , RCFF began
to participate in proficiency testing with BIPEA/France and FAPAS/UK.
In 2004,RCFF has been accredited ISO/IEC17025 by the American
Association for Laboratory accreditation A2LA for technical
competence in the field of chemical testing. |
